Last Friday we had a lovely afternoon down at the Red House getting to know our neighbours over a glass of Pimms in the sunshine. Lots of friendly faces stopped by to have a look around the flats and it was a great chance for some of the new home owners to get to know each other.
Everyone was very impressed with the standard of the development and we are really chuffed with all the compliments they gave the team.
John and Christine live at number 43 Elers Road. They came by with their son and his wife to see the finished property:
"It is such a delight to be able to see what you've done. We've kept our eye on the house over the years and have been admiring your work in the last few months. You’ve done a wonderful job.”
Maggie (number 9 Elers) was a district nurse in the 1990s and used to visit the residents who lived in the nursing home:
"I used to come to visit the old ladies who lived here. It was so dark and the hallways were narrow and oppressive. And now it's lovely and light and open. The new design makes so much of the outside space with all the balconies overlooking the park. That's so important. I think it's been beautifully designed. I really just love it. Thank you.”
David from number 11 Elers:
"I’m so glad you did this and it’s so good to see it finished! It was a mess, neglected and overgrown for years. Now it’s brilliant. Simple design, great style. That’s the best!”
Pauline lives locally and has been in the area for over 30 years. She says it was always so sad to see the Red House is such a terrible state when all the other houses on the street are so well cared for.
“It’s beautiful. I love the interior style. And the views! I want to live here!”
Rema and her family have lived in Ealing all her life:
"I love how you have treated the building with such care and respect."
Being such a well-loved local landmark, we even had Annemarie from Ealing Today come by to take a look at the finished project:
“It’s such a great idea to invite the neighbours around. Not a lot of developers do that! And of course everyone’s curious about what’s happening on their street."
Thank you to all our neighbours who came down to say hello, it was lovely to celebrate this proud day with you. Well done to architect Shirley and site manager Macieji for making our vision for The Red House a reality.
